Skylight

Wed 24 – Sat 27 Apr • 7.30pm • Full £14 Concs £12 • Community Theatre

Presented by Bath Drama

Written by David Hare

On a bitter night in the mid-1990s, Kyra returns to her cold, damp North London flat after a day’s work teaching disadvantaged East End children. Ahead of her, after supper, is an evening marking homework. What then happens is an unexpected reminder of her past life. The next twelve hours will be the most challenging of her life, with her whole raison d’etre  brought into focus.

David Hare’s award-winning three-hander gives audiences an emotionally shattering experience. Hare writes brilliantly about relationships; with ‘Skylight’ he also examines how finance and business affect our everyday lives.

‘Skylight’ is a play of exquisite beauty, of humour, of pain and of joy.

The Incident Room

Wed 01 May – Sat 04 May • 7.30pm • Full £15 Concs £14 • Community Theatre

Written by Olivia Hurst & David Byrne
Presented by Platform 8

Between 1975 and 1981, West Yorkshire police investigated a series of brutal murders. The case was hampered by outdated methods, poor communication, mountains of paperwork, media pressure, false leads, personal prejudices and misogyny towards both the victims and female police officers.

This tense detective drama offers a fascinating insight into the life of the incident room during the investigation of one of the most notorious serial killers, the Yorkshire Ripper.

Described by The Guardian as ‘beautifully crafted’ and by the British Theatre Guide as ‘an engrossing piece of theatre’, this compelling play is part real-life crime drama and part social history.

Contains strong language and adult themes

Inspired by modern American sitcoms including FriendsFrasier and ScrubsI Love You Because transplants Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice into the beating heart of early-2000s New York.

Austin Bennet’s life is turned upside down when he finds his girlfriend in bed with another man. Forced back out into the treacherous dating scene, Austin meets Marcy, whose spontaneity is matched only by her ability to drive him insane.

A musical-comedy that explores the rules and nuances of dating, because sometimes love is learning how to love someone, not in spite of their differences, but because of them.

Collaborators

Wed 19 – Sat 22nd Jun • 7.30pm • Full £14 Concs £12 • Community Theatre

Presented by The Rondo Theatre Company

Written By John Hodge

A darkly comic satire of Stalinist Russia, from the pen of John Hodge (of Trainspotting and Shallow Grave fame). ‘Collaborators’ follows writer Mikhail Bulgakov’s surreal journey as he is given the offer of a lifetime: write a play about Stalin’s early life. Or else.  Not something one easily turns down in 1930’s Moscow. The descent from hilarity to tragedy has rarely been portrayed quite so well on the stage – winning Hodge the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Play.

We are privileged to have John Hodge himself assisting with this production.  John will be attending Friday and Saturday night for a Q&A session with the audience following the performance.  Don’t miss this chance to enjoy a fantastic play and talk with its BAFTA award-winning and Oscar nominated author!

Please note that there is a theatre restoration levy of £1.50 per ticket. This levy applies to all transactions, whether made in person at our Box Office, by post or by phone, for all payment types. Telephone bookings incur an additional booking fee per transaction.
