Scott Matthews

Sat 30 May • 8pm • Admission £20 • Music

Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter Scott Matthews returns to Bath Fringe after an exceptionally special and memorable sold out Rondo Theatre debut in 2025.

Twenty years ago, Scott Matthews emerged from the Black Country, challenged the status quo and quickly established himself as one of the most revered singer-songwriters of a generation with his mesmeric and inimitable debut album, Passing Stranger.

To mark the beginning of the anniversary year, Scott will be releasing a brand-new live album and performing a select number of shows across the UK. Matthews’ latest release will be the first volume in a series of exploratory live albums that document the transfiguration of songs that span an eight-studio-album career, dating back to 2006.

Describing what live performance means to him, Scott says, ‘The lifeblood of these songs flow at their purest and headiest when connecting with a live audience. In all my adventures on the road, I feel most alive when the barriers are knocked down, exposed and leaving nothing behind.

Jukebox Mash Up - Live Request Show

Thu 4 Jun • 7.30pm • Full £14 Concs £12 • Comedy/Music

The Jukebox Mashup is an incredibly talented musical comedy show based entirely on audience requests. It’s totally live, very silly and great fun. It truly gets everyone involved. The audience can ask for *any* song in the world and Craig will play and sing it on guitar.

No rehearsal.
No looking up chords.
Instantly!

Then the magic starts to happen. A ‘mash up’ 3 or 4 songs at the same time to make an epic improvised tune. It’s fast paced and will cover 40-70 songs per show from all genres and artists chosen entirely by the audience on the night. It’s very funny, brilliantly talented and perfect for anyone who likes comedy songs and having a laugh.

Come along, get involved and watch the carnage unfold.

Reuben’s Daughters

Leylanding, Reuben Myles Tyghe’s second album as Reuben’s Daughters released in December 2025, finds the UK singer/songwriter pushing the sound of his 2022 debut LP Mami Wata into new and fascinating places—recalling The Sea and Cake’s airy post-rock sonics, the woolly chamber-pop of Super Furry Animals godhead Gruff Rhys, and The Beta Band’s more acoustic moments.

Tyghe and his six piece band – who all made contributions to the new record – will tour Leylanding throughout 2026. The live show is psychedelic, progressive indie-folk that holds no allegiance to any one genre or current scene and aspires to be grounded in musical integrity and exchange.

The Korgis: Acoustic

Sun 6 Dec • 7pm • Admission £20 • Music

James Warren and John Baker are the lead vocalists of The Korgis.

Formed in Bath in 1978, their first hit was If I Had You (UK 13) in 1979, followed in 1980 by the worldwide smash Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime, a certified modern-day classic which has spawned over 50 cover versions in every musical style imaginable from choral to grunge. This year it was even used in the soundtrack of Hollywood blockbuster Marty Supreme.

James started his musical career in the much-loved and decidedly eccentric British prog rock band Stackridge whose 1973 album The Man In The Bowler Hat was produced by Beatles producer George Martin.

John started in Graduate alongside Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith who later became Tears For Fears. Their first album was produced by Tony Hatch (writer of UK and US Number 1 Downtown) and came within a whisker of having a well-deserved UK hit with Elvis Should Play Ska.

Time certainly flies –  James and John have now worked together in The Korgis and other musical projects for over 45 years!

In this show you will be treated to a delightful selection of their own best-loved compositions alongside inspirational songs from people they’ve worked with such as Peter Gabriel, Tears For Fears and Trevor Horn –  plus a few nods to the The BeatlesThe Everly BrothersFleetwood Mac and other life-long influences for good measure.

An evening of terrific tunes and extraordinary anecdotes not to be missed.
