Patrick Duff

Fri 16 Oct • 7.30pm • Full £20 Concs £15 • Music

An intimate evening with songs from more than three decades – early days with Strangelove to new songs from the forthcoming album… With concert visuals by Berlin-based artist Colya Zucker and Nina Volière.

Patrick Duff’s concerts are mesmerising experiences that resonate deeply. Known for their still, engaging atmospheres and characterised by a haunting intimacy within the collective listening. Critics have described Duff as a “celebrant” who uses his music to connect the audience to a sense of the divine.

His music is timeless, personal and poetic, variously described as indie noir, avant-folk and even baroque pop. Duff describes his current songwriting as intuitive and spontaneous, with songs “writing themselves” inside him. Transitioning from the raw indie rock energy of his 90s band Strangelove, his solo work has evolved into a more controlled and yet still visceral form of dark pop.

‘A show of pure magic, and a celebration of the sacred that keeps us from sinking into the darkness…’  The Arts Desk

‘Throughout his albums, he tells stories in a touching, in a wonderful way – very, very intense’  Radio 1
