Ever wanted to know how it all works at The Rondo? Thinking of becoming a volunteer but need to know more first? Come and see for yourself as The Rondo opens its doors for a revealing open day. Come and meet some of the companies who perform here, take a look backstage and have a relaxing drink at the bar. If you have any burning questions about the theatre – here is your chance to ask! The open day is open to anyone of any age. There’s loads to see and do so come along and say hello!
During the day, local composer Lawrence Reed teams up with international sonic installation artist B Yianni to immerse Larkhall in 'sonic events' to mark the festival. An electronic installation will be played live as part of the Rondo Theatre open day and this will culminate at 3.30 with a premiere of '5ways' - a piece for 4 Cellos , electronic backing and electronic treatment.
This will form part of the larger work 'generations 3' where the event and audience reactions will be recorded on video and shown at next year's festival. This process will be repeated for at least 10 years and create a dynamic and enduring record of this sonic event and the reactions it provokes.
