Sabina Spielrein was one of the most important figures in the history of psychoanalysis. So why has no-one ever heard of her? In this new play, commissioned by Bath actor Rosamund Barker and written specially for her, Spielrein reviews her bizarre and tormented life for her captive audience and confronts them with the scandals of her appalling treatment by the tyrannical men in her life, from her terrorising father to Adolf Hitler, passing Professor Sigmund Freud on the way... and not forgetting her saviour and destroyer the renowned Dr Jung. With support from Theatre Bath Debut project. |
