American-born James Lambeth is rapidly establishing himself as an up and coming singer of swing jazz. Lambeth's silky vocal technique promises an afternoon of 30's sophistication, featuring the very best of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and many other legendary American songwriters. James will be joined by Joe Spibey on double bass and Terry Veale on guitar.

The Rondo Theatre Afternoon Concerts provide live music and entertainment on various afternoons throughout the year. Aimed at older members of the community, these concerts are an excellent way to relax and enjoy music in the welcoming and intimate atmosphere of The Rondo.

Lola Montez, the infamous 19th Century fake Spanish dancer stormed her way through life in a tumultuous journey of seduction, sorrow and success.

In Trestle's new production, Lola prepares for her very last performance and revisits her bittersweet story from humble Irish-born beginnings to the glamour of international high-life. Told through a fiery blend of flamenco dance, rhythm and live music, the show plays with the truth and illusion of public and private personas and questions the personal cost of celebrity.

Trestle is one of Britain's leading touring theatre companies having made innovative and inspirational physical and visual theatre since 1981.

Federico Garcia Lorca, murdered during the Spanish Civil War, is the most beloved and influential of all modern Poets. His reputation puts him as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. Passionate, urgent, haunting and evocative, Lorca also wrote dramatic, modernist plays, many of which have been performed worldwide.

The Poems will be mostly be sung in English with some verses in Spanish. To soften the challenge the evening will also include courageous material by those who followed Lorca, namely, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Tim Buckley and of course Nick Drake.

Relatives include one with werewolf tendencies; one who wanders around in a toga in the style of Julius Caesar and a third is a gentle elderly lady who plants more than seeds in her flower beds...

Following its sell-out success last year the Natural Theatre Company recreates a 1950's style cinema complete with decrepit staff, stale popcorn and obligatory 'b' movie.

If you can get past old Sprocket, the commissionaire, you'll be shown to your seat by flirty usherette, Honey Wagon (runner up of “Miss Hot Dog” 1958 ). Once in your seat you can relax while Ernie Glissendo runs his hands over his mighty Organ and encourages you to sing along to his bouncing balls.

So come and enjoy a night at a 1950's cinema. Wear your best 1950's outfits, (prizes for the best dressed!). Sample 3D and Smellovision! Sample the usherettes! But no snogging in the back row!!
