The Strawbs have enjoyed major success on both sides of the Atlantic. In the early 1970s, as well as several hit albums, their singles “Part of the Union” and “Lay Down” topped the charts. From the mid-Seventies, they spent more time in the States and Canada, where their albums charted for five years as they toured with Santana, The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult, King Crimson and Frank Zappa. Acoustic Strawbs play classic Strawbs songs with the integrity and musicianship for which the band has always been recognised. “It's damn good they're out there. Long May They Run.” William Wilson, The Assembly House, Norwich. |

Richard Pilkington and Chrissy Mostyn are the boy-girl duo BLACKHEART, one of the fastest rising acts of the new acoustic generation. With wide ranging influences combining folk, country, rock and even classical music, their ultra catchy music defies categorisation. The band will perform original songs from their acclaimed debut album Indigo. Having performed with great artists like Martin Carthy, Julie Felix, Eliza Carthy, The Acoustic Strawbs and Boo Hewerdine, Blackheart are being heralded by BBC Radio as “...taking the acoustic scene by storm!” “Blackheart don't sound like anyone else, rather they remind us why music lifts us up.” - Dalton Delan, American Public Television |

This season’s pantomime is the much-loved ‘Cinderella’, but with an unusual twist. The classic rags to riches story has been set in the roaring 1920s, with stunning costumes, songs and dances, not to mention suffragette Broker’s Women, a cohort of fairies straight from the Women’s Institute, and a pair of vamping, tap-dancing Ugly Sisters who shop till they drop. From the same team who produced last year’s highly successful, Rosebowl-nominated, Aladdin, Cinderella promises all the family a show full of comedy, magic, slapstick, drama, laughter and thrills – the perfect antidote to January! |
