This shameless traducing of the ‘Scottish Play’ was first performed in 1977 here in Bath, since when it has been performed continually all over the world; and if Abigail’s Party can celebrate 40 years, it seems right to see this suburban drama of love, death and kilts again, in the town of its birth.
So Norman and Elsie Grimethorpe invite you into their living room at 41, Laburnum Avenue for an evening of cultural theatre, in which they play all the parts. Norman has had to improve Shakespeare’s work. It’s too long for a start, and there’s far too much poetry. Not to mention no pandas.
“… one of the most charismatic and downright hilarious plays” Bristol Adhoc
“pure dead brilliant” Dundee Courier
“It’s for plays like this that the Lord created comedy. Don’t miss it whatever you do.” What’s On Birmingham
