A Christmas Carol @ The Rondo Theatre

By Charles Dickens

Presented by European Arts Company

Charles Dickens came to Bath just a few months before he died in 1870 and gave a public performance of A Christmas Carol at the Assembly Rooms. This Christmas, you can experience what it must have been like to be in the audience!

European Arts Company returns with a heart-warming evening in the presence of the author himself as actor John O’Connor faithfully recreates Dickens’s famous performance of his best-loved ghost story. Come and enjoy a seasonal treat in the spirit of Christmas past, present and future…

Directed by Peter Craze. In support of the children’s charity Barnardo’s.

Please note that a theatre restoration levy of £1 per ticket applies to all transactions, whether made in person at our Box Office, by post or by phone, for all payment types. Telephone bookings incur an additional £1.50 booking fee per transaction.

Two ghost stories by M R James

Performed by R M Lloyd Parry

***** Wonderful, magical storytelling The Daily Mail

Over a century after they were first published, the ghost stories of M R James retain their power to terrify and amuse. This gripping one-man show retells two of the earliest and eeriest.
In Canon Alberic’s Scrap-book, a young Cambridge antiquary discovers the devil in the details of an old book in a medieval town in the French Pyrenees…
In The Mezzotint a ghoulish revenge is enacted within a work of art, before the helpless eyes of a museum curator in Oxford…
Stylish, intimate and terrifying storytelling for a dark winter’s night.

Vic and Ed love their jobs in The Lost Present Department but they also love singing, playing games and being rascally.

Now it’s Christmas and they have more present sorting than ever… but there is always time for fun isn’t there? Or will there be presents that don’t reach the children?

The Lost Present is a festive, fun-filled hour of mischief and mayhem with plenty of comedy, live music and songs with lots to make all the family chuckle.

Reviews of original production in The Brewery, Bristol:
‘Imaginative children’s theatre at its best’ The Stage
‘Both funny and charming with a line in quirky humour that can appeal to both children and adults alike’ The Post, Five Stars

The Rondo’s Christmas shows have become a mainstay of the Festive season in recent years – so book early to make sure you don’t miss out on a fabulous Christmassy treat!
