James Warren - Exclusive Preview @ The Rondo Theatre

Local pop sensation James Warren, singer and songwriter with The Korgis and Stackridge (Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime) welcomes you to a one-off Sunday afternoon performance prior to hitting the road in 2018 to promote his new breakout album Innocent Bystander.

There will be exclusive previews of exciting new material and live performance of his classic songs, as well as a healthy dose of fun and laughter. This one off event will also feature a very rare questions and answer session with the Korgis frontman (to ask a question, please fill in the questionnaire when booking) and the whole event will be filmed for the upcoming nationwide tour.

James Warren’s songwriting has always been timeless. His roots are in the classic songs of the 60’s and 70’s but his unique art is keeping his writing relevant and fresh sounding while managing to stay authentic to his past success. He was a founder member of Stackridge, who achieved massive underground success – their fans still rate their albums to be among the all-time greats. After founding The Korgis, James enjoyed large scale commercial hit songs, first with the iconic If I Had You, and then the monster smash Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime.

James’ brilliant new collection of songs, lovingly crafted in the way only James can, are both vibrant and bright from the beginning. For the 2018 tour, he has assembled a cracking band to bring them to life on the stage. Reforming from the Korgis of the 90’s are John Baker lending his vast expertise on guitars and vocals and setting the stage alight on lead guitar, Al Steele. They are joined by the silky keyboard melodies of Stackridge’s Glenn Tommey, and the mighty West End powerhouse Paul Smith on drums. Anyone who knows James also knows that he LOVES backing vocals. For this show, and the upcoming tour he has added the uplifting energy of Born To Win, an aspiring three-piece harmony band who not only nail the vocals with ease, but add a splash of sassy glamour!

James and his band would love to see you there for this one-off event – however space is extremely limited at this venue, so book now now to avoid disappointment!

Sometimes folk, sometimes not, India Electric Company use traditional instruments in contemporary styles to explore diverse themes from Eastern Europe, Irish traditions and urban alienation to end up with something “quirky and glittery – a veritable musical magpie’s nest.” – Mary Ann Kennedy, BBC Radio 3.

After releasing their debut debut album The Girl I Left Behind Me in 2015 they began extensively supporting and accompanying Midge Ure  throughout Europe. They performed live sessions on BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, as well as playing the likes of Glastonbury Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival.  Currently they are embarking on their first tours of Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia and Ireland to coincide with the release of their latest recordings.

“Fresh and gobsmacking!” – BBC 6 Music

**** “Bursting with invention and full of surprises.”  – The Telegraph
**** “Their reeling, spinning sound corroborates the content of their songs which appear to be describing a life alive with motion. They are altogether a good thing, busy as rush hour but full of light.” – The Independent on Sunday
